Mirror and Imprint

By Mike Keating

Mirror

Look
In the mirror
And whom do
You
See
A person
Who
falls
In
Love
With
One two
Or three

Do you
Then
Watch and
Wonder
Why
some
to
Early, or
to
soon after,
Or
Some but
A dream.

yet, why
Is it
That each
Was
Like the
Flower
Seasonally
Wonderful
But
lost to
Time and me.
Oh yes,
Look in the mirror
and whom
do You see
a person
where
loves
lost
to thee

Oh
Not to
Worry,
For
Mirrors
Reminder
Is
To
Be ok
With
Mystery
Still
Awaiting

So
Look
In
The mirror
And
Be…okay
For
Love is
Present
Just look
Around…
Can’t you see?

Yes
Yes
I see.

Imprint

Sometimes
Natures
Natural
Order imprints
Images
Instinctively
Imagined
Yet,
Dreamlike
In reality:
A snowflake
Daybreak
A flower
To name just
A few
Yet,
Metaphorically
Similar
To a sunrise
Or sunset,
Wonderfully
Greeted
By some,
Apprehensively
By others,
Honored
With bended knee
Or raised arms.
Spiritually
Sensing
Some
similar
Imprinted hope
Soulfully
Acknowledged
Faithfully
Attended
A oneness
…I guess
An expression
Of love
Maybe…
Yes, imprints
Of imagined
Images
Of life
Instills
Some
Hope
That
There is
More
To
The
Imagined…
Yes…
Being
Real…
Imprints
The
Soul
And makes
All the difference
It’s finding
Real
That’s
The
Challenge…

As an Emersonian philosopher, nature plays an important role in a transcendental way in many of Mr. Keating’s poetry.
