Ride & Edge

By Mike Keating

Ride

Sometimes
Life is like taking
A ride
As a passenger…
Curves feel different
Bumps unseen
Rattle deep

Sometimes
Life is like taking
A ride
Without knowing
A destination,
Every corner
Is gazed upon
Nervously
While intently
Starring ahead.

Then sometimes
Life is like taking
A ride
And being
Surprised
At the outcome;
Especially
If you smile
When
You notice
It mattered
Not to ask
Where are
We going?

And
Sometimes
Life is like taking
A ride
And you know
You missed
Your
Turn.
And you feel
Lost.

Other times,
Life is like taking
A ride
Standing
In a crowded
Bus
Looking ahead
For your
Chance
To get off.

Oh life…
Is not
A smooth
Path
If you try
To
Enjoy the
View,
And
Avoid
Dead ends

Yep
Nothing like
Taking a ride
Even if
Just
A dream.

Edge

Here we are
Again my friend
always
same
Unknowingness
Moments away

Here we are
Again my friend
Just a step
In life
An edge
Where some
Are
safe
Yet
Only one
Can we choose
And once
We do
The other
Is past

Oh here
We are
Again
My friend
enjoy
These
Edges
And these
Crossroads
For
Fate
Is your
Calling
Card

In life
A step is
All that’s needed
To change
Ones perception
Ones fate
Just
One step

Yes,
Here we are
Again
My friend
Fate
Is
What
We
Create
If we
Step
Forward

Step … it’s
Only
An edge
Of
Life
A crossroad
Toward
Oneness.

Yes
Life is…
ours to live
Once
