Woods Walk &
Dusk Witness

By Mike Keating

Woods Walk

Oh I sense it
Well before I see
Heralded by early
Song birds
A shrill here
A distant reply
Others join
Morning song
The growing
Chorus
Nature awakening
To a new day
A resurrecting sun
Now pierces
The dawns
Grey sky
Chorus now
To many to single out
A natural tune
With the broadening
Glow
It’s now dawn
Wake my friends
Another day
Has been
Granted
Make it count.

Dusk Witness

Sunsets
regularly
absorb
Center stage,
Seemingly noticed
by
most
aware
of
Natures
routine
scene changes…,

Fading
light
unveils
a gift
within a glance
towards a darkening
surface;
a pond
now absorbing
these last seconds
of this days
Light,

Water
now a mirror
reflecting remaining
shadows
of trees, clouds
and the first
Stars
of nights
Act one.

From one side
Night
becomes…
Overwhelming
a mirrored wonder,
mesmerizing a
witnessing audience to
Natures normalcy.

A lesson learned…

Sometimes
life’s
brightest moments
may mask the wonder
of all the other moments
making
Us
Better.

So
Next
Sunset,
Look
to
The
Wonders
Just
Waiting
A
Witness

Who
Then
Is intrinsically
Changed…
